RICHMOND, Va. – After leading the Monmouth University men's tennis team to a 2-0 week, senior Alex Martinez Sanz and sophomore Sasha Vysochenko were named the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Men's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week by league officials. 
 
Martinez Sanz and Vysochenko were honored by the CAA for the first time and are the second doubles team to take home the weekly award this season (Jakob Bonnett and Louis Keller – Feb. 3).
 
Martinez Sanz/Vysochenko went 2-0 at first doubles and helped the Hawks win their fourth straight dual meet to start the spring semester.
 
The duo started their week with a 7-6 (7-2) win over Roman Filima and Rhajzon Rankins of Morgan State in the Hawks' 6-1 win. The pair then captured a 6-0 win over Tomasz Garbacz and Frederick McRae of Sacred Heart in a 7-0 victory.
 
The pair has won three straight doubles matches together. 
 
Both players also went 2-0 in singles play to lead the Hawks to the wins.
 
Martinez Sanz, Vysochenko and the rest of the Hawks are back in action when they travel to Army on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 3 p.m.
