HAWKS AND BULLDOGS COMMON OPPONENTS
Monmouth and Yale have played two common opponents to this point, with both teams picking up wins over Lehigh. Monmouth beat Albany, while Yale were defeated by the Great Danes. MU dropped a pair of games to future Yale conference opponents in Penn and Princeton, while Yale was bested by MAAC-member Iona their last time out.
HAMMOND ONE OF THE TOP ROOKIES
Deion Hammond is one of five MAAC rookies averaging in double figures, and his 10.7 points per game ranks him third amongst conference freshmen. He trails only Rider's Jordan Allen and Frederick Scott in rookie scoring, and is second in three pointers made by a freshmen behind Allen, who leads the conference overall.
CLOSING THE NON-CONFERENCE
MU closes out the non-league portion of the schedule against Yale, and will play conference games beginning on December 28th at Quinnipiac.
CLOSE LOSSES
Though Monmouth's record is 3-8, Monmouth has lost three of those games by fi ve points or less, with two coming in overtime and a third (Hofstra) coming in the fi nal seconds on a non-traditional tip out off a missed free throw, resulting in a three pointer. Of the eight losses, four have come at the hands of a high-major program, including a three-point defeat at UConn in OT.
CAREER GAMES PLAYED
Austin Tilghman has missed one career game, coming last season vs. Fairfield due to illness, and is on track to finish at least second in program history in games played. He has played in 113, and the Hawks have 19 games remaining in the regular season, which would put him at 132, one ahead of
Justin Robinson's 131 in second.
Chris Brady is the all-time leader at 135 games played.
MIXING UP THE STARTING FIVE
MU has seen nine different starting lineups in the first 11 games of the season, with 10 different players earning a spot on the floor to start a game to this point. On Monmouth's roster, 11 players have earned a start at some point in their career, 10 of them this season in addition to
Zac Tillman, who has totaled 67 starts in his Monmouth career.
George Papas picked up his first career start against Hofstra. Only three players on the roster have never started a game in the Blue and White (D. Pillari, Ibiezugbe, Martin).
