WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ –  The Monmouth University women's swimming team hosted Sacred Heart in a dual meet on Friday afternoon at Steadman Natatorium.

The Hawks fell by a 120-71 final and senior Alexis Knowles was honored as part of Senior Day in a pre-meet presentation.

Junior Anne Skimmons was victorious in the women's 200-yard IM also won the 100-yard butterfly.

- In the 200-yard IM Skimmons touched the wall in 2:15.18, more than a second faster than her time in Monmouth's previous meet on Tuesday against Rider.

- Senior Alexis Knowles was honored prior to the meet as Monmouth's lone senior in the Class of 2017. Knowles competed in the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard backstroke and the 200-yard freestyle relay.

 NUMBERS CRUNCH

- Alexis Knowles set a new personal record in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:20.43.

Monmouth will compete in the MAAC Championships, beginning on February 8 in Buffalo, N.Y.
