MONMOUTH ANNOUNCES THE KING RICE SHOW

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ- Monmouth University, MU Athletics and the Hawks basketball program have announced the introduction of The King Rice Show for the 2016-17 season. The radio show will air on Monday nights from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monmouth's student radio station, WMCX 88.9 FM, and Wednesday nights from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the Shore Sports Network, WOBM AM 1160 and 1310, and on shoresportsnetwork.com. The program will also go out with a live look in studio on Monday nights via Monmouth University's Facebook page, beginning with the first episode.

The first show will air this coming Monday, November 7 and Wednesday, November 9 with Monday airing on Facebook Live and Wednesday on WOBM.

Prior to January 1st, the show will air on Facebook Live and WOBM and will go live on WMCX following the New Year. The show, hosted by Monmouth's Eddy Occhipinti, will feature Monmouth head coach King Rice as well as interviews with players, breakdowns of the team and opponents with color analyst Steve Bazaz, and a segment produced by Monmouth students. The show will take select questions from fans via phone or Facebook. Guests will be announced weekly via social media by following @MonmouthBBall on Twitter.

Occhipinti and Bazaz will have the call on the Shore Sports Network for every road game this season, while a host of MU students led by Mike Trapasso will broadcast games on the student station, WMCX. The season kicks off Friday night, November 11 at 7:00 p.m. at the OceanFirst Bank Center against Drexel.
