MEREDITH LEADS PUMAS TO PDL CHAMPIONSHIP WITH 1-0 WIN

BREMERTON, Wash. - Former Monmouth University men's soccer goalkeeper Bryan Meredith has led his squad, the Kitsap Pumas, to the PDL National Championship game against the Laredo Heat, which will air live on the Fox Soccer Channel tonight, August 6th, at 7 p.m.

The Pumas, the minor affiliate of the Seattle Sounders who took Meredith with the 29th overall selection in the 2011 Major League Soccer (MLS) SuperDraft, will compete for its first championship in its history.  With the club, Meredith has seen action in 15 matches, turning away 50 shots with nine shutouts to his credit.

In the quarterfinal contest, Meredith preserved the Pumas' victory with a save on a penalty kick in the 90th minute to advance his team to the semifinals where they bested the Thunder Bay Chill, 3-1, in come-from-behind fashion.

UPDATE: Meredith and th Pumas won the PDL National Championship on Saturday night with a 1-0 blanking of the Heat.
