PHILADELPHIA, PA. - Members of the Monmouth University women's and men's track and field team competed in the Penn Invite, hosted by Penn University, this past weekend. Junior Monica Kloc (Matawan, N.J./Matawan) and sophomore Missy Reigles (Bainbridge, N.Y./Bainbridge-Guilford) posted personal bests in the discus while Dan D'Amato ((Matawan, N.J./Old Bridge) finished top-eight in two events.
Kloc launch a throw of 127' 2" to claim second for the Hawks in the discus, while Reigles registered a throw of 123' 11", good for fourth. Rookie Qiyana Hill (Middle Island, N.Y./Longwood) earned sixth with a mark 120' 9".
Vanessa Campo threw for 91' 10" in the javelin to finish eighth.
For the men's squad, freshman D'Amato earned fifth in the shot put with a throw of 47' 9.25" and seventh in the hammer throw with a toss of 116' 5".
Junior Jason Timmons (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) cleared 14' 5.25 to earn fifth.
Senior Colton Langianese (Lewis Run, Pa./Bradford Area) fired a throw of 146' 7" in the javelin to finish eighth overall.
The Hawks return to action next weekend, April 9th, at the Rutgers Invitational.
