WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J.- Monmouth senior Christian Keller (Matawan, N.J./Matawan) has been named Northeast Conference Field Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive time, league officials announced Tuesday afternoon.
Keller continued his impressive senior campaign at the Penn State Relays, earning the top spot in the shot put with his toss of 55' 11 ?”. He also finished fourth in the weight throw, with a throw of 60'00 ?”. The senior placed ahead of athletes from the East's best schools including Penn State, Cornell, Princeton and Lehigh at the one-day meet. He has already qualified for the IC4A Division I Indoor Championships in both events.
He also earned the award last week after winning the shot put and taking second in the weight throw at the Seton Hall Open.
Monmouth is back in action this weekend when they compete at the NYU Gotham Cup on Friday and the University of Maryland Invite on Saturday.
