BOSTON- Monmouth University's men's track and field team finished in 29th place (out of 107 Division I Teams) at the IC4A Championships, the squad's third best effort in school history.
Jude Rene (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton North) finished eighth overall in the heptathlon with 4,522 points, setting a new school record in the process. The junior was in third place after Friday before earning All-East honors with his performance in the final three events. Rene broke his own school record in the event by almost 200 points.
Ed Skowronski (Hazlet, N.J./Raritan) took home sixth place in the weight throw with a toss of 59'11 ?”, which also earned him a spot on the All-East team. Fabrice St. Elme (Rahway, N.J./Rahway) was seventh in the 55m dash, running 6.41 in the semifinals and 6.47 in the finals.
Nick Williams' (Adamstown, Md./Urbana) throw of 56' in the shot put was fourth overall, giving the Hawk his first indoor All-East award.
The Hawks will now turn their attention to the outdoor season, which kicks off on March 24, with the MU Season Opener.
