EMMITSBURG, Md. - The Monmouth University men's tennis team improved to 3-0 against Northeast Conference competition after a 7-0 win over Mount St. Mary's this past Sunday. The Hawks improve to 7-7 on the season with the win.
Junior Tom Corrie (Herfordshire, England/Roundwood Park), who was named Prince/NEC Player of the Week, fought his way to a 6-4, 6-7 (4), 6-4 win over the Mount's Jeff Lamberton in #2 singles play. He also claimed an 8-4 win at #1 doubles pairing with junior Benjamin Evenden (Cresco, PA/Ridgewood, NJ).
In #1 singles, Evenden earned a 6-3, 6-2 win over Favio Osorio, while freshman Corey Forrest (Ocala, FL) improved his season dual match record to 14-1 with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Rob Dupaya in a #4 flight match.
The Hawks travel to UConn on Friday, then return home to face Sacred Heart on Saturday and Quinnipiac on Sunday.
