Madison Skeie joined the Monmouth field hockey staff as an assistant in August of 2022.

Skeie enters her second year as Assistant Coach for the Hawks. During her inaugural season, the Hawks registered a 10-8 overall (5-1 conference) record.

Skeie arrives in West Long Branch following a stint as an assistant at Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island. Following the hiring of new head coach Lisa Lopes at JWU, Skeie handled the day-to-day operations of the field hockey program including practice planning, on field coaching, individual workouts, video analysis, travel and recruiting efforts for the Wildcats. Under new leadership, the Wildcats' win total improved from six to 17. JWU boasted having both the GNAC Defensive POY and Offensive POY, their first ever GNAC Championship, NCAA appearance, and first student-athlete in program history to earn National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-American honors.

Skeie has coached clinic and tournament teams for Cape Cod, Jersey Intensity and Surf and Sand field hockey clubs, guiding her teams through the recruiting process. As a player for Jersey Intensity field hockey club, Skeie won two club championships in both indoor and outdoor. In 2020-21, Skeie was the head middle school coach for The Lincoln School, Providence Rhode Island.

Skeie is a graduate of Providence College, earning a bachelor’s degree in Sports Broadcasting and Media. Skeie was a four-year member of the Friar field hockey team and two-time Captain. The defender helped the Friars appear in four Big East tournaments. She was a three-time Big East Academic All-Star selection and a two-time recipient of the program’s “Pride Is An All-The-Time-Thing Award”. In her senior year, Madison was a nominee finalist for the prestigious Jane Thompson Athletic Award.

Born and raised in South Jersey, Skeie was a standout student-athlete at Southern Regional High School competing in field hockey, basketball, and track and field - earning 12 varsity letters and the Dolph Cranmer Award for top female athlete. During her scholastic field hockey career, she registered 145 points on 47 goals and 51 assists, setting the school record for single-season assists (25). Skeie collected Group IV First Team and All-Atlantic City Press First-Team honors, was a two-time All-Shore First-Team selection and All-Shore Player of The Year twice. Skeie earned a spot on the state's elite “Top 100 Scorers” list compiled by the Asbury Park Press. In 2023, she was inducted into the Southern Reginal Athletic Hall of Fame.
