David Williamson, who was a volunteer assistant for Carli Figlio for five seasons from 2008-2012, returned to West Long Branch in 2018 after spending five years on the Princeton sideline, including its Final Four run in 2016. Â
The Hawks won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championships in Williamson’s first year back with the Blue and White.  Monmouth posted a 13-win season and undefeated conference record en route to the program’s third NCAA Tournament appearance. Williamson’s goalkeeping corps posted a 1.71 goals against average (GAA), good for second in the league, while Kate O’Hogan finished the season sixth nationally in goalie win-loss percentage (.818) and 13th in GAA (1.32). Â
A member of the 2019 America East Coaching Staff of the Year, Williamson helped usher Monmouth into a new era, playing in its first year as an associate member in the conference.  The Hawks, who were ranked nationally in the top-25 for seven weeks of the season, compiled a 14-5 overall record, including an unblemished 5-0 in league play.  The Blue and White claimed the East Division Regular Season Championships and made a trip the to the league finals against No. 17 Stanford.  The keepers, led by O’Hogan who was tabbed to the America East All-Championship team, finished top-25 nationally in goals against average (1.41).Â
Williamson brings a wealth of knowledge both internationally and stateside having been involved in the Ireland National team and is currently an assistant on the US Field Hockey national team. Â While at Princeton, he helped lead the Tigers to five-straight NCAA appearances. Â The 2002 graduate of University of Ulster worked as an events consultant for the National Field Hockey Coaches Association, focusing on the goalkeepers that saw action in back-to-back FIH Hockey World Tournaments.Â
