WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ — Monmouth Field Hockey moved up to No. 17 in the latest Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll after capturing its seventh nationally ranked win Friday after defeating No. 18 Rutgers.
The Hawks opened the 2026 season with a 5-1 victory over the Scarlet Knights who dropped to No. 20 in the latest NFHCA poll. Monmouth's offense was spread around with 11 different players registering at least a point in the victory. The Hawks concluded the weekend against Delaware Sunday, suffering their first loss of the season, 2-1 to the visiting Hens.
Monmouth returns to So Sweet A Cat Field Friday, hosting Rider at 4 p.m.
Four more nationally ranked opponents are listed on the Hawks' 2026 slate, including top 10 opposition No. 3 Harvard, No. 5 University of Virginia and No. 8 University of Michigan.
