RICHMOND, Va. – Monmouth women's lacrosse's Shea Berigan has been named CAA Offensive Player of the Week following a six-point performance in the season opener against Merrimack, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
 
Berigan tied her career high with six points on four goals and two assists and was credited with the game-winning goal for the Hawks in their 13-10 win over the Warriors on Friday afternoon.
 
Down 10-8 in the fourth quarter, Berigan assisted on or scored each of the team's next three goals, helping the Hawks close the game with five straight scores and start the season 1-0 for the seventh time in the last eight seasons.
 
Friday was the sixth four-goal game of Berigan's career and the first time the Hingham, Mass., native has reached six points in a game since a four-score, two-assist performance against Bryant on Feb. 15, 2025.
 
The senior becomes the first Hawk to earn player of the week honors since Brianna Falco was tabbed the CAA's Defensive POTW in 2023. It is the first conference weekly honor in Berigan's career.
 
Berigan and the Hawks will look to make it a 2-0 start to the season on Wednesday when they host La Salle at Kessler Stadium. Gametime in Monmouth's home-opener is set for 2 p.m. on FloCollege and NBCSP.
