RICHMOND, Va. – After averaging 18.5 points and 5.5 assists per game in a 2-0-week, Monmouth University men's basketball guard
Kavion McClain was named the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Week by league officials.

McClain is honored for the first time in his career and is the second Hawk to be honored by the CAA this season (
Stefanos Spartalis – Nov. 24).

The senior shot 45.2% from the field, 42.9% from three and added three rebounds and four steals.Â

McClain poured in a season-high 20 points in 22 minutes of action in the Hawks' 93-73 win at Drexel. He was 7-for-11 from the field with three three-pointers. McClain added a season-high six assists with two rebounds and three steals.Â

On Sunday night in the win over Towson, McClain added a team-high 17 points to go along with five assists, one steal and one rebound.

McClain has dished out at least five assists and made three three-pointers in each of the last three games which has also led to the Hawks' first three game win streak of the season.Â

McClain and the Hawks return to action on Thursday, Feb. 19 when they travel to UNCW for a 7 p.m. game.
