WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Monmouth women's basketball secured its eighth straight victory on Friday afternoon, holding off UNCW for a 52–50 win at the OceanFirst Bank Center. The victory marked the Hawks' longest winning streak since the 2010–11 season as Monmouth improved to 10–4 overall and 3–0 in CAA play.

The game was tightly contested throughout, featuring eight lead changes and seven ties, before Monmouth made the key plays down the stretch to seal the win.

Divine Dibula led the Hawks with 13 points and a team-high 11 rebounds, recording her third double-double of the season. Alexis Andrews added 12 points and four assists, while Madalena Amaro finished with 11 points, including the game-clinching free throw in the final second. GiGi Gamble chipped in seven points and four steals, including multiple late defensive plays that proved pivotal.

Monmouth and UNCW were knotted at 13 after the opening quarter before the Hawks gained momentum in the second frame. Monmouth held the Seahawks to just six points in the quarter and used a 10–0 run midway through the period to take a 25–19 lead into halftime.

UNCW responded out of the break, outscoring Monmouth 21–13 in the third quarter to reclaim a 40–38 edge heading into the final 10 minutes. The Seahawks built a seven-point advantage during the period, but the Hawks stayed within striking distance behind timely baskets from Andrews and Amaro.

The fourth quarter saw Monmouth regain control with strong defense and opportunistic scoring. Gamble drained a three-pointer early in the period to give the Hawks a brief lead, and Andrews later connected from long range to put Monmouth ahead 45–42 with just over four minutes remaining.

After UNCW cut the deficit to one, Gamble converted a fast-break layup off a steal to make it 49–46 with under two minutes to play. Andrews split a pair of free throws with 10 seconds remaining, and after UNCW closed within one in the final second, Amaro calmly knocked down the second of two free throws at the buzzer to secure the 52–50 victory.
