Monmouth Wins Seventh Straight Game, Downs  NCA&T 61-55

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Behind a game-high 25 points from Gigi Gamble, Monmouth women's basketball held off N.C. A&T, 61–55, Sunday afternoon at Corbett Sports Center to remain unbeaten in CAA play.

The Hawks (9–4, 2–0 CAA) used a strong third quarter to create separation after a tightly contested first half that featured seven lead changes and four ties.

Monmouth outscored the Aggies 21–12 in the third, shooting 72.7 percent from the field in the period to take control.

Gamble finished 9-for-17 from the floor and knocked down four three-pointers. Divine Dibula chipped in 10 points, four rebounds, and three steals, while Alexis Davis recorded 11 points and a team-high eight rebounds.

Monmouth and N.C. A&T were deadlocked at 26–26 at halftime before the Hawks opened the third quarter on an early surge. A three-pointer from Kathy Kersaint and back-to-back baskets by Gamble helped Monmouth build a six-point cushion midway through the frame. The Hawks pushed the lead to as many as 10 early in the fourth quarter.
The Aggies cut the deficit to four late in the final period, but Monmouth responded with timely defense and key free throws to seal the victory.

Alexis Andrews added seven points and three rebounds, while Madalena Amaro contributed five rebounds and four assists in a full 40-minute effort. Ella Farrelly pulled down six rebounds off the bench as the Hawks finished with a 33–32 edge on the glass.
