RICHMOND, Va. – Monmouth University men's soccer forward Victor Andersson and midfielders Jakob Friedman and Patrick Osiecki were named Preseason All-Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Honorable Mention as the league announced its preseason awards.
 
In addition, the Hawks were selected second in the Preseason North Poll voted on by the league's head coaches.
 
Andersson was a key contributor for the Hawks up front throughout his rookie season. He earned CAA All-Rookie Team honors after starting all 16 matches and scoring three goals. All of Andersson's goals came during CAA play and were game-winners. 
 
Friedman had a solid junior season for the Hawks. He started all 16 matches and tied for third in the CAA in assists with seven. His seven assists where the most by a Hawk since Dave Nigro had eight during the 2016 season. 
 
Osiecki has been a mainstay in the midfield for the Hawks. He started all 16 matches during his junior campaign. Osiecki finished second on the team with nine points on four goals and one assist. He registered the game-winning goals against Temple and La Salle.
 
Entering their fourth season in the CAA and coming off a second straight appearance in the CAA Tournament last fall, the Hawks received 12 points to secure the second spot in the north division poll.
 
Hofstra, the defending league champion, got 15 points for the top spot in the north. Drexel took the third spot in the north. Elon, Charleston and UNCW claimed the top three spots in the south poll.
 
Monmouth opens its 2025 campaign on Thursday, Aug. 21 when it hosts New Haven at 7 p.m.
