Summer Reimet Named CAA Preseason Player of the Year

August 11, 2025

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Monmouth women's soccer forward Summer Reimet was tabbed the Coastal Athletic Association Preseason Player of the Year, as voted on by the league's coaches and announced by the conference on Monday.

Sophomore defender Grace Notarfrancesco joins Reimet on the conference's all-preseason squad, while reigning CAA Rookie of the Year Ashley Lavrich takes home an honorable mention nod. In the team poll, the Hawks were picked to finish second in the North Division, securing a top-four preseason selection for the fourth time in four years in the CAA.

Reimet, coming off a 14-goal, five-assist season in 2024, becomes the second Monmouth player in a row to earn preseason player of the year honors after Lauren Bruno took home the award in 2024. Her 33 points last season put her into a tie for 13th most in a season in program history.

The Ocean City, N.J., native's 56 career points and 23 goals are 22nd and 21st most, respectively, in Hawks history. Reimet, who was named CAA Attacking Player of the Year last season, recorded points in five consecutive games to end the 2024 campaign.

Notarfrancesco picks up preseason all-conference honors after being selected to the CAA's all-rookie squad last fall. In her freshman campaign, she started all 20 matches for the Hawks, helping anchor a defense that posted a CAA-best nine clean sheets and held 14-of-20 opponents to one goal or less. The Mechanicsburg, Pa., product stepped up on the offensive end in the postseason, picking up a goal and a helper in Monmouth's run to the conference title match.

Lavrich took home CAA Rookie of the Year and Second Team All-CAA honors in 2024 after tallying 20 points on five goals and eight assists in her freshman campaign. The Birdsboro, Pa., native started all 20 games a season ago and topped the CAA assist leaderboards.

Monmouth will aim for its 20th consecutive winning season in 2025 in the school's fourth season in the CAA. This will be Head Coach Kylee Flynn's fourth season as head coach after compiling 37 victories over her first three campaigns.
