Izzy Bonacci delivered her fifth double of the year, but Monmouth fell 8-1 to Towson on Saturday afternoon in Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) action at Tiger Stadium.

Monmouth's lone run came in the sixth after
Liv Smith drew a walk and advanced to third on Bonacci's double.
Jayla Cadena brought Smith home with a sacrifice fly to center, cutting into Towson's lead and avoiding the shutout.

Isabella Slape added a hit, while Smith reached base twice and played error-free defense in right field.
Kylee McLain and
Kaitlynn Place chipped in with solid efforts in left and off the bench, respectively, as the Hawks recorded five total hits and drew two walks in the contest.

Olivia Lewis made the start and worked into the third inning before Cadena came on in relief. The junior right-hander tossed 3.2 innings, striking out one and scattering five hits while limiting damage through the middle innings.
