BRONX, N.Y. – The Monmouth University baseball team fell at Fordham University by a 5-2 score on Tuesday afternoon.

The Rams struck first with three runs in the bottom of the second. Tommy Markey had a two-run single, which helped Fordham gain the advantage.Â

Chase Hanawalt had an RBI double in the third that pushed the Fordham advantage to 4-0.
Â
The Rams added a run in the seventh and held a 5-0 lead in the contest.

The Hawks broke through in the top of the eighth. With two outs,
Casey Caufield roped a two-run double to right center that scored
Kenny Noe and
Aidan Bretschneider.Â

Fordham was able to close out the 5-2 win.Â

- It was the eighth meeting all-time between the Hawks and Rams. Fordham leads the all-time series 5-3 and has won back-to-back games in the series.
