Harry Padden scored a first inning run as the Monmouth University baseball team fell at Towson, 7-1 on Friday afternoon in Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) action.

Padden got the Hawks on the board as he led off the game with a double to left. After a groundout,
Jay Bant lifted a sac fly to center. Monmouth led 1-0 in the contest.Â

Towson took the lead back in the bottom of the first as Brian Heckelman hit a three-run home run.Â

The Tigers added to their lead in the bottom of the second with RBI singles from Jordan Peyton and Nich Francuzenko.

A two run double in the fifth extended the Towson advantage to 7-1.

That proved to be enough for the Tigers as the home team claimed the win.
NOTESÂ
- It was the ninth meeting all-time between the Hawks and Tigers. Monmouth leads the series 5-4, despite having a five-game win streak in the series snapped.
- Monmouth had a two-game win streak snapped with the loss.
