Richmond, Va. – Junior third baseman
Savannah Simons of the Monmouth University Softball Team has been named to the 2025 Preseason All-CAA Team, the league announced Friday afternoon.
Simons made an instant impact in her first season with the Hawks in 2024. As a sophomore, she led Monmouth offensively with a .323 batting average, 52 hits, and 64 total bases after starting all 51 games. The Hawaii native finished the season inside the top 15 of the conference in on-base percentage (.420), hits and batting average, while also proving to be a valuable defensive asset racking up 113 assists – the fifth most in the CAA.
Monmouth finished with 10 wins in CAA play in 2024 – a two-game improvement from its inaugural season in the conference. After finishing seventh a year ago, the Hawks have been picked to place eighth in 2025 by the conference's head coaches. The Hawks begin their 2025 campaign at the Spartan Classic hosted by USC Upstate with games versus Akron and Bowling Green on Friday, Feb. 7.
