Monmouth Tabs Accomplished Local Product to Coach Throws

West Long Branch, NJ - A Big Ten Conference track & field champion has returned home to the Jersey Shore to pursue his coaching career at Monmouth University.

Monmouth has hired local product Andrew Liskowitz as its new assistant coach to lead the throws department. Liskowitz, from nearby Middletown Township, starred at Christian Brothers Academy prior to enjoying a decorated collegiate career in Ann Arbor, MI.

Joining Michigan as a walk-on athlete, Liskowitz developed into conference champion and program record setter. The shot putter broke the Wolverines' indoor and outdoor records during his All-American tenure. He won the Big Ten title indoors in 2019 and 2020 before capturing the outdoor crown in 2021.

Liskowitz placed sixth at the 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials and spent three years as a professional competitor prior to his transition into coaching. He served one year as a volunteer assistant coach for LSU before landing in West Long Branch.
