Monmouth's Ahmad Brock Keeps CAA Field Award at Jersey Shore

January 29, 2025

West Long Branch, NJ - Monmouth is now 5-for-5 when it comes to winning the Coastal Athletic Association Men's Field Athlete of the Week award this indoor season.

This time, long jumper Ahmad Brock claimed the weekly CAA honor. The senior joins a list that features Heptathlete David Strong and pole vaulter Dalton Yeust, who each have two awards apiece.

Brock overtook Strong for the CAA lead in the long jump this past weekend. The senior leapt 7.45m (24' 5.5") at Columbia's Dr. Sander Scorcher in New York City, breaking into the current NCAA Division I Top 50. It was the Hawks' second-best all-time performance in the event.

Meanwhile, senior Declan McDonnell was a candidate for the CAA Men's Track Athlete of the Week award, which went to Hofstra's Abraham Longosiwa.

McDonnell took a commanding lead over the CAA in the men's mile at the Dr. Sander Scorcher. The senior clocked in at 4:02.38 to finish fourth amongst collegiate competitors in a field that included athletes ranging from Eastern Kentucky to Wisconsin. His time is 5.49 seconds faster than Northeastern's Tyler Brogan, who ranks second in the CAA.

The Hawks return to action on January 31 at the Scarlet Knight Open.
