WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Monmouth University Women's Basketball Team connected on a season-high 12 three-point attempts to help lift the Hawks to a dominant 69-46 victory over the Northeastern Huskies on Sunday afternoon at the OceanFirst Bank Center.
Monmouth got off to an early lead behind efficient shooting from range by seniors
Damaris Rodriguez and
Rachel Kuhl. Rodriguez scored 12 of her 14 points for the game in the first half, with all 12 coming on threes, while Kuhl hit three of her own. As a team, Monmouth shot 8-of-17 from behind the arc in the first half, including 5-of-8 in the second quarter. The Hawks held a 42-19 advantage at the break.
Forward
Taisha Exanor led Monmouth, which received contributions up and down the lineup, with 16 points.
Kemari Reynolds added eight points, while
Belle Kranbuhl and
Divine Dibula each scored seven. In total, nine Hawks scored a field goal on the afternoon.
