BROOKLINE, Mass. – Cassie Coster made a season-high nine saves, including five in the second half, which allowed the Monmouth University women's soccer team to secure a 2-1 win at Northeastern University in Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) play Sunday afternoon.
The Hawks got on the board early in this one with a tally in the ninth minute.
Summer Reimet crossed a ball into the box from the right side that landed right at the feet of
Emily De Almeida. De Almeida knocked it home for the 1-0 advantage.
Northeastern found the equalizer in the 13th minute as Avery Levangie slid one across the box and into the left-hand corner of the net.
Both teams had their chances and forced some solid saves by Coster and Northeastern's Sophie Theresia Augustin.
Monmouth went back on top, 2-1 at the 28:40 mark. Reimet got control of the ball in the offensive end, split a pair of defenders and deposited her eighth goal of the season in the back of the net.
Each team got off one more shot in the half as Monmouth went into the break leading 2-1.
Coster made a pair of nice saves in the first 10 minutes of the second half, which kept Monmouth in the lead.
Coster continued come up big in goal as she had three saves in a six-minute span for the Hawks.
The Monmouth defense locked in allowing just one shot in the final 20 minutes of play and closing out a 2-1 victory.

- Monmouth has won back-to-back matches for the third time this season.
- The Hawks are undefeated through three CAA contests for the second time in three seasons.
- Monmouth moves to 2-1 all-time against Northeastern. It was the Hawks' first ever trip to Brookline.

Summer Reimet's goal gave her eight on the season. It is the most goals in a season since Lauren Karabin had 10 in 2021.
- Reimet's goal was also her team-leading third game-winning goal of the year.

Emily De Almeida's tally was her third goal of the season. De Almeida is one of five Hawks to score at least three goals this season.

Lauren Bruno picked up the assist on Reimet's goal. She becomes the 12th Hawk to record at least one point this season.

Cassie Coster's nine saves in the contest are a season-high. Coster has now recorded at least nine saves in a match four times in her Monmouth career.
- Coster's win in goal was her sixth of the season and 30th of her Monmouth career.
