College of Charleston 0 (7-2-1, 2-0-1 CAA)

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – A battle between two of the top four teams in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) standings ended in a hard-fought 0-0 draw between the Monmouth University men's soccer team and the College of Charleston on Saturday afternoon.

The two teams went back-and-forth on both ends of the pitch to start the contest. Erik Reis put a shot on goal that Olly Marshall was able to get a hand on. Eryk Dymora had a pair of solid stops for the Hawks in that stretch.

Monmouth continued to apply pressure in the first 30 minutes of the match. Jakob Friedman and Victor Andersson got off shots that Marshall was able to turn away.

Much of the final 15 minutes of the first half were played in the midfield and the Hawks and Cougars were fighting for every ball. The two sides went into the break knotted at 0-0.

Reis put a shot on the bottom left-hand corner of the net in the 57th minute but Marshall was able to get a hand on it.

Dymora made a pair of nice diving stops to keep the Cougars off the board around the 70th minute.

Both teams had their chances in the final 20 minutes as a hard-fought contest ended with each team earning a point in a 0-0 tie.
