WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Liza Suydam scored a pair of first half goals to help power the Monmouth University women's soccer team to a 3-0 win over Bucknell University on Sunday afternoon.
The two teams battled back and forth over the first 20 minutes of the contest.
The Hawks broke through on the scoreboard 25 minutes into the game, as a give-and-go between Suydam and
Summer Reimet ended with Suydam rifling a low shot into the lower corner closest to the Monmouth bench.
Suydam extended the Monmouth lead to 2-0 in the final minute of play before the break. The sophomore midfielder lofted a shot from 30 yards out and tucked it just under the crossbar for the score.
Monmouth extended its lead to 3-0 in the 56th minute as
Ashley Lavrich made a run down the near sideline and rifled one up into the upper far corner.
The Monmouth defense clamped down and allowed Bucknell just four shots, and one on goal, in the final 30+ minutes of action. Monmouth claimed the 3-0 victory.

Summer Reimet picked up the assist on Suydam's first tally. She now has a team-best nine points through five matches this season.

Cassie Coster has now held all five opponents to one goal or less this season. She has held 36 of 42 opponents in her Monmouth career to one goal or less.
- Coster now has 23 shutouts and 27 wins in her Monmouth career.
