WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Monmouth University Softball Team fell in the series finale versus Stony Brook by a score of 2-0 at MU Softball Park Sunday afternoon.
Starting pitchers
Billie Kerwood and Mia Haynes went toe-to-toe with dueling complete games, but three first-inning doubles leading to two runs helped secure the series sweep for the Seawolves. Both finished with seven strikeouts and three walks each, with Kerwood taking her 12
th loss of the year on two earned runs.
Tessa Thompson collected the lone hit for the Monmouth bats on the day, while
Mackenzie Bloss,
Kaitlynn Place, and
Lexi Castaneda each drew a walk.
