RICHMOND, Va. – For the second time this season, Monmouth University men's tennis junior Mateo Bivol has been recognized as the CAA Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Bivol put together a 4-0 week at No. 1 singles as Monmouth earned three wins over FDU (5-2), Marist (4-0) and Navy (4-0). The junior rallied past FDU's Ajurn Sriram, 3-6, 6-4, 10-8 and claimed a three-set victory over St. John's Martin Bugaj, 6-7, 6-1, 6-3 in a narrow 4-3 defeat. He closed the week with a pair of match-clinching victories, beating Marist's Jose Catala, 6-4, 6-3, and Navy's Aniketh Ayinala, 6-1, 6-2.

Bivol owns an eight-match winning streak and improved his singles record to 15-6 on the season.

The Hawks return to action on Saturday for a 1 p.m. match against Drexel.
