NEWARK, Del. – The Delaware Blue Hens defeated the Monmouth University Softball Team in the second game of a three-game weekend series by a final score of 7-2.

Delaware scored two runs in each of the first two innings, and added their fifth run of the game on a RBI single in the third. Monmouth would not cross home plate until the sixth inning on a two-out, two-run double by senior catcher Abby Warner scoring Tessa Thompson and Ana Rodriguez. Rodriguez led the offensive charge for the Hawks with a 3-for-3 outing with two doubles.
 
Pitcher Billie Kerwood made her 25^th start of the season and went 4.0 innings allowing four earned runs and striking out three, as the Blue Hens picked up their sixth consecutive victory.
