CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston scored three runs in the bottom of the 10th inning to secure a 6-5 win over the Monmouth University baseball team on Saturday afternoon in Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) play.Â

The Hawks got on the board in the first as
Austin Denlinger's RBI double scored
Harry Padden.Â

Phil Stahl's home run to right field in the top of the fourth extended the Monmouth advantage to 2-0.Â

College of Charleston tied things up with a pair of runs in the bottom half of that frame.Â

The Hawks went back on top in the sixth as a
Chris Andrews delivered a two-out single that scored
James Harmstead.Â

An RBI bunt single in the bottom of the seventh, allowed the Cougars to tie the game at 3-3.Â

Monmouth loaded the bases in the top of the eighth but was unable to push a run across.Â

The game headed to extra innings all knotted at 3-3.Â

In the top of the 10th, it was once again Andrews coming through with a two-out single that scored Padden and gave Monmouth a 4-3 advantage.
Joey DeMucci followed with an RBI single of his own and pushed the Hawks' lead to 5-3.

College of Charleston took advantage of three Monmouth errors in the bottom of the 10th to secure the 6-5 walkoff win.

Derek Benzinger suffered the tough luck loss for the Hawks as he threw the final 2.2 innings and gave up three runs, none of which were earned.
