West Long Branch, N.J. – Monmouth University Men's Lacrosse freshman
Brendan Dundas was named Coastal Athletic Association Rookie of the Week, league officials announced Monday afternoon. Dundas totaled nine points in two MU wins last week.
The freshman scored hat tricks in both wins by Monmouth last week, as the Hawks topped Wagner and Mount Saint Mary's. Against the Seahawks, he scored three goals on five shots and added two assists in addition to three ground balls as Monmouth pulled away to a six-goal victory. He scored three more times in the Hawks comeback win over Mount St. Mary's, adding an assist and doing so on four shots.
Dundas has scored three goals in every home game this season and leads MU with 11 goals on the year. He is the second ever CAA Rookie of the Week in program history, joining
Ty Caffarelli, who won it last season, and the second weekly honoree this season, joining
Tommy Heller, who was named CAA Defensive Player of the Week during the first week of the season.
Monmouth returns to action this Saturday, March 9 at 11:00 a.m. against Delaware at Kessler Stadium on FloSports. Tickets are available at MonmouthHawks.com/Tickets.
