West Long Branch, N.J. – Monmouth University Men's Basketball's Xander Rice was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District First Team, officials announced Tuesday. Rice joins Justin Robinson as the only NABC All-District First Team honorees in program history.
 
Rice scored the second most points in a season in program history this year, finishing with 674. An All-CAA First Team choice, Rice scored 30 or more points five times this season, tying the program single-season record. He averaged 20.4 points per contest, third best in a year in program history and just the third Hawk to average more than 20 points per contest. He was a two-time CAA Player of the Week and a Lou Henson Award Watch List selection. His 119 assists was second on the team, and he ranked in the top three in the CAA in scoring all season long.
 
Rice joins Justin Robinson, who was twice named an NABC First Team All-District choice in 2016 and 2017, as the only players to accomplish this in program history.
