James Harmstead's two-out two-run single in the top of the 10th inning lifted the Monmouth University baseball team to a 7-5 win at Saint Joseph's on Friday afternoon.Â

Monmouth took an early lead with three runs in the top of the third.
Austin Denlinger had an RBI double in the inning while
Eric Sabato and
Wyatt Hunt each added RBI singles.

Saint Joseph's pulled to within one with single runs in the bottom of the third and the fourth.Â
Â
Monmouth added to its lead in the top of the sixth as Denlinger lifted a sac fly to right.Â

Harmstead made it a 5-2 game with his second home run of the year in the top of the seventh.Â
Â
A wild pitch from Monmouth in the bottom of the eighth allowed a Saint Joseph's run to score and made it a 5-3 game.
Â
Saint Joseph's plated two in the bottom of the ninth and tied the game at 5-5.
Derek Benzinger entered the game with two runners on and minimized the damage to send the game to extras.

Monmouth loaded the bases in the top of the 10th with two outs before Harmstead stroked a single through the left side which scored Denlinger and
Casey Caufield for the lead.Â
Â
Benzinger set the side down in order in the bottom of the 10th to secure the win.
NOTES
- Monmouth has now won back-to-back games against Saint Joseph's, both of which took place in Philadelphia.
- It was Monmouth's third extra inning game of the year and the first win in extra innings this year for the squad.  Â

Wyatt Hunt had the first three-hit game of his career.Â

Casey Caufield had a season-high three hits and has now hit safely in nine straight games.Â

Austin Denlinger had two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. He has sit safely in seven straight games.Â

- Monmouth out hit Saint Joseph's, 17-12 in the game. It was the Monmouth's highest hit total of the season.Â
