BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Monmouth University women's basketball team outscored Campbell University 33-23 in the second half, to complete a second half comeback and secure a 53-49 win in Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) play on Friday night.Â

The Hawks picked up their ninth straight road win and set the school record for road win streak in the process.Â

The first period was a back-and-forth battle. Trailing 10-9, the Hawks scored four of the final six points in the period and took a 13-12 edge after one.Â

Campbell turned in a strong defensive effort in the second period and outscored the Hawks 14-7. That allowed the home team to take a 26-20 lead at the break.Â
Sandrine Clesca completed a traditional three-point play to start the third period for the Hawks. The two teams traded points over the next several minutes as Campbell led 33-28 with 4:16 showing on the clock.Â

Belle Kranbuhl had a bucket on the next possession that cut the home team's lead to three, 33-30. Monmouth closed the third quarter on an 8-2 run and held a 39-38 edge after three.
Ella Farrelly had six points in that closing stretch for the Hawks.Â

Ariana Vanderhoop to start the fourth quarter pushed the Monmouth lead to five, 43-38. The Hawks' lead fluctuated between one and three points over the next several minutes. Campbell tied the game at 48-48 with 2:52 to play. Monmouth closed the game on a 5-2 run to secure the 53-49 win. Vanderhoop scored four of the five in that closing run.Â

Belle Kranbuhl had 11 rebounds to lead the Hawks. It was her fourth game this season in double figures for rebounds.Â

Ariana Vanderhoop was the Hawks' lone player to score in double figures as she finished with 10. It was Vanderhoop's first game in double figures since Jan. 21 and her 10
th game this season.Â
- Kranbuhl had a game-high three blocks for the Hawks. That gives her 58 blocks for the season. Kranbuhl needs just six more blocks to match her career-high for blocks in a single-season.Â
- The Hawks held Campbell to 49 points in the contest. It was the fifth time this season, the Hawks have held an opponent to under 50 points.Â
- With six games remaining in the regular season, the Hawks need just one more win to match their CAA total from a year ago.Â

- Monmouth finished the game shooting 36% from the field, including 54.5% in the third quarter. Campbell posted a 42.6 field goal percentage for the contest.Â
- The Hawks were 15-for-23 from the foul line in the contest, including 13-for-19 in the second half. Campbell was just 8-for-13 from the foul line.Â
- Monmouth won the rebounding battle, 32-31.
Belle Kranbuhl led the way with 11 rebounds in the contest.Â
