WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. — Monmouth University football running back
Sone Ntoh and quarterback
Derek Robertson have been named 2024 Associated Press FCS All-America Honorable Mention selections, the organization announced Tuesday.
The awards mark the second straight season Monmouth has placed two student-athletes on AP All-America teams, following
Dymere Miller and
Jaden Shirden's recognition in 2023.
Robertson, who recently announced his intention to return to Monmouth for his final season of eligibility in 2025, led the FCS in total passing yards (3,937) and passing yards per game (328.1) in 2024. He set the Monmouth single-season records for both passing yards and passing touchdowns with 31, which ranked third in the FCS. The team captain finished the regular season with 283 completions on 435 attempts, a 65.1% completion rate, with 31 touchdowns and only six interceptions.
Robertson was also the nation's leader in total offense per game (325.3). In addition, he had at least one touchdown pass in every game, including six games with three or more touchdowns. Robertson's record-breaking season included a career-high 536 passing yards in the win at No. 20/18 Stony Brook (11/23). He was also named CAA Offensive Player of the Week in consecutive weeks to end the season and the CAA Offensive Player of the Year.
Ntoh closed his career with an incredible season as he set a new Monmouth single-season rushing touchdowns record with 25 and led the FCS in both rushing touchdowns and total touchdowns (26). The team captain scored at least one touchdown in every game and averaged 4.5 yards per carry, totaling 487 rushing yards. Ntoh earned CAA Offensive Player of the Week honors following a five touchdown outburst against Fordham and was a First Team All-CAA recipient after the season.
