WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University men's soccer defender
Gabe Dahlin earned First Team All-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) honors after his strong performance this fall.Â
Â
He was honored by the ECAC for the first time in his career.
Â
Dahlin earned the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Defender of the Year award earlier this fall in addition to being named First Team All-CAA.Â
Â
When Dahlin earned the Defender of the Year award, it was the ninth time in program history that a Hawk had earned that award and the first time since George Akampeke in 2020. He earned First Team honors for the second straight year.Â
Â
Dahlin keyed a backline that had eight shutouts and held 13 opponents to one goal or less.Â
Â
His ability to push up into the midfield led to him recording a goal and two assists this season. Dahlin scored the game-tying goal at Campbell and picked up an assist as the Hawks beat Penn to record their second win over a Top 12 team this season.
