Rodriguez Scores 17 in Monmouth Loss at Penn State

FINAL SCORE
Penn State (5-0) – 100

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State Lady Lions reached triple digits on the scoreboard for the second straight game as they defeated the Monmouth University Women's Basketball Team, 100-55, at the Bryce Jordan Center on Sunday afternoon.

Graduate guard Damaris Rodriguez tied her season best and led the Hawks in scoring with 17 points, but it was not enough to overcome Penn State's high-powered offense. Eleven of Rodriguez's 17 came in the second half, which consisted of knocking down five field goals and shooting 50% from the floor.

No other Hawks reached double figures, though Taisha Exanor nearly missed out on a double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds. Five of Exanor's boards came on the offensive glass, a category that Monmouth outperformed the Lady Lions in, 17-15. Divine Dibula had three offensive rebounds of her own and added seven points, while Jaye Haynes finished with eight points.
