WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – A goal in each half allowed the Monmouth University women's soccer team to defeat Hampton University, 2-0 and clinch a share of the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Regular Season Title with the win on Sunday afternoon.
The Hawks share the CAA Regular Season Title with Stony Brook. Monmouth earned the number one seed for the upcoming CAA Tournament via a tiebreaker with the Seawolves.
The Hawks applied immediate pressure and capitalized at the 9:17 mark.
Summer Reimet controlled a ball played into the left side of the box, went around her defender and fired it home for the 1-0 lead.
Monmouth continued to look for another goal but strong play from Avery John in goal kept the Hawks off the board. John made five saves after surrendering the goal as Monmouth took the 1-0 lead into the half.
Cassie Coster made a save early in the second half to keep the Pirates off the board.
The Hawks continued to battle in the second half and in the 88th minute tacked on a second goal.
Ashley Lavrich crossed a ball from the left post to the right side. That ball found the foot of
Liza Suydam, who launched one into the back of the net.
Monmouth closed out the 2-0 victory.

- For the second time in three years, the Hawks secured at least a share of the CAA Regular Season Title (2022, 2024). It is the 10th time in the last 12 years that the Hawks have captured at least a share of their conference regular season title.
- The Hawks moved to 3-0 all-time against Hampton.
- The Hawks picked up their ninth shutout of the season. That is tied for 14th in single-season history at Monmouth.

Summer Reimet scored her team-leading 11th goal of the season. Reimet becomes the first Hawk to score 11 goals in a season since Alexis McTamney in 2013.
- Reimet was credited the game-winning goal in the contest. It was her fifth game-winner of the season which leads the CAA.
- Reimet's tally was her 20th of her career and gave her 50 career points.

Liza Suydam's goal was her eighth of the season which is a new career-high for the sophomore.

Ashley Lavrich secured her team-leading seventh assist of the season on Suydam's goal. Lavrich is the first Hawk to have seven or more assists in a single-season since Jesi Rossman had nine in 2021.

Cassie Coster picked up her CAA leading ninth shutout of the season. Coster now has at least nine shutouts in each of three seasons at Monmouth and 29 for her Hawks career.
NUMBERS CRUNCH
- Monmouth held a 32-3 advantage in shots in the contest. The Hawks put 14 shots on goal to Hampton's two.
- Monmouth took 12 of the match's 14 corner kicks.
