Victor Andersson scored his second goal of the season in the second half which helped the Monmouth University men's soccer team secure a 1-0 win at the College of William & Mary in Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) play Saturday night.Â

The Hawks have won back-to-back matches and remain unbeaten in CAA play (3-0-3). Monmouth moved into a three-way tie for first place in the CAA standings with two CAA contests remaining.

The first 20 minutes of the contest saw both teams feeling each other out as the Hawks and Tribe each recorded one shot.Â

The Hawks increased the pressure, firing off four shots in a two-minute stretch midway through the first period but could not break through.Â

Eryk Dymora made a big save in the final five minutes of the stanza and the two sides went into the half tied at 0-0.

Monmouth fired off a couple of quick shots to start the second half before finally breaking through at 51:01. The Hawks used some crisp passing to move the ball up the field.
Erik Reis crossed a ball into the box that Andersson was able to head home for the 1-0 advantage.Â

Dymora made a pair of big stops following the goal to keep William & Mary off the board.Â

The two teams continued to battle as Dymora made four saves in the final 20 minutes to close out the 1-0 victory.
