IOWA CITY, IOWA – Monmouth University's Field Hockey team fell to Big Ten foe Indiana by a score of 4-0 in a neutral site non-conference matchup at Grant Field in Iowa City. The contest marks the first half of a back-to-back against Big Ten teams for the Hawks with Saturday's contest coming as a true road contest versus #12 Iowa.
 
Indiana struck early, scoring twice within the first three minutes for a quick 2-0 lead. Monmouth responded with some offensive pressure, recording three shots on goal, one each from Sofia Fouces, Claire Campen, and Anna Moors. However, Indiana goalkeeper Sadie Canelli was solid in net stopping all three shots on goal on the afternoon.
 
The Hoosiers added a third goal late in the second period and another in the third. Monmouth goalkeeper Charlie Bowman made three saves in her first career start, while the Hawks' defense did well to limit further damage despite Indiana's six penalty corners.
