WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University Men's Basketball and Head Coach
King Rice have announced the addition of former Hawk Micah Seaborn to the coaching staff as the Director of Player Development.

"We're super excited to have Micah back in our program," said Rice. "His experience as a player and a few seasons ago when he was with us brings so much to our group and he's awesome around our guys. He's going to help our group a ton."

Seaborn is a 2022 graduate of Monmouth and played three seasons in the Blue and White, winning two MAAC regular season titles and competing in two NIT's. The 2016 MAAC Rookie of the Year, Seaborn was also a MAAC All-Rookie Team selection and Third Team choice in 2016 and a First Team member in 2017, in addition to 2017 NABC All-District Second Team. Seaborn was part of the winningest season in program history in 2015-16 and the program's longest winning streak in 2016-17. He amassed 1,144 points in his time at MU, tied with Dwayne Byfield and Mustafa Barksdale for 17
th most in school history. In 2015-16, he combined with Justin Robinson to form the highest scoring duo in program history, with the pair netting 1,167 points. His 84.7% free throw shooting percentage is the best in Monmouth history. Seaborn's eight three pointers in 2016 against South Carolina State is one off the program single-game record.

Following his time at Monmouth, Seaborn was a 2018 first round pick of the Grand Rapids Drive, the NBA G-League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons. Seaborn also played professionally for Mega Basket of the Georgia A League. In 2021-22, Seaborn was a volunteer for Rice at MU while completing his degree and helped the Hawks to a 21-win season and a trip to the MAAC title game.

"It's a blessing to be back with Coach Rice and the team and I won't take this opportunity for granted," said Seaborn. "Getting to help them that 2021-2022 season was big in my development as a coach. I'm really looking forward to helping these players on and off the court as much as I can. I feel like we have a good group of guys who want to show what we can do after last year, so I feel like we should all be extra motivated to strive for greatness every day and make big accomplishments this season."
