NORFOLK, Va. – Freshman
Loren Gehret connected on a goal in each half to help the Monmouth University women's soccer team earn a 5-0 victory over Hampton on Sunday afternoon in Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) play.
Monmouth wasted little time in getting on the board in this one as sophomore
Summer Reimet connected on her first of the season in the 11th minute off a solid pass from senior
Lauren Bruno.
The Hawks tacked on three more goals in the final 15 minutes of the first period. Graduate student
Marisa Tava struck for her first of the year before Suydam scored off an assist from Bruno.
Gehret capped the first period scoring in the 43rd minute with her second of the year. Fellow freshman
Lindsey Husic picked up the helper on Gehret's tally.
The Hawks continued to dominate the pace of play in the second half and added Gehret's second of the day just before time expired. Gehret's second goal was assisted by fellow freshman
Emily De Almeida and senior
Sammy Jones.
