WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University Men's Basketball and Head Coach
King Rice have announced the 2023-24 non-conference schedule, which features five home games and three high-major opponents.
"We've put another tough non-conference schedule in front of our guys," said Head Coach
King Rice. "This group has been working all summer and I know we'll be ready for the challenge. I'm also excited that we have five home games to play in front of our fans before CAA play starts up."

MU will host an open exhibition on October 21 against Division III Rhode Island College, who are coached by former MU assistant Sam Ferry. The 2023-24 campaign officially begins on the opening night of college basketball, November 6, at George Mason before the Hawks visit West Virginia on November 10, the third matchup between Rice and the Mountaineers since 2014.

The home opener comes on Saturday, November 18 against Princeton before a second straight home contest on November 21 vs. Lehigh. MU competes in the Cathedral of College Basketball Classic over Thanksgiving weekend against Belmont, Lafayette and Penn at The Palestra in Philadelphia before a visit to Cornell wraps up November.

The Hawks host Northern Illinois for the first time in program history on December 9 before a visit north to Seton Hall on the 12
th. Back-to-back MAAC opponents visit West Long Branch on December 16 and 21 with Rider and Manhattan coming to town. The non-league slate concludes with a visit to Oklahoma on New Year's Eve.

Five non-league home games is the most for MU since the 2014-15 season, with nine of the 13 non-conference opponents finishing last season with a winning record. Three Hawk opponents won 20+ games last season, with two teams competing in the NCAA Tournament and one in the NIT. The October 21 exhibition will be open to the public.
