STONY BROOK, NY - Monmouth University Baseball dropped the weekend opener at Stony Brook University, 12-4.
Dante Ciaramella struck out five and
Andrew Schmid drove in two for the Blue and White.
Stony Brook scored three in the second and led 6-0 after five. Schmid got the Hawks on the board with a sac fly in the seventh, but the Seawolves put together a six-run eighth to open their lead.
Ben Winstead,
Casey Caufield and Schmid all drove in runs for Monmouth in the ninth to make it 12-4, the eventual final.
