WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Monmouth University softball team dropped the series finale to Drexel on Sunday, 10-4, at MU Softball Park.
Drexel held a 1-0 lead going into the bottom of the second.
Riley Riendeau (1-for-3, 2 R, RBI) hit a single to right field, and
Mackenzie Bloss (2-for-4, 2 RBI) doubled to give the Hawks a 3-1 lead. Drexel would answer in the top of the fourth to tie it back up at three apiece.
The Dragons then used a five-run fifth inning on four hits to take control, 8-3. They would add two more in the sixth and eventually held on for a 10-4 victory.
Abby Warner (3-for-3, 2B, RBI) drove in the final run for the Hawks in the bottom of the sixth.
