WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – James Harmstead homered for the second consecutive game, but Monmouth University Baseball was defeated by College of Charleston Saturday afternoon in West Long Branch, 10-1.

Charleston used the long ball, homering four times in the game to build their lead. JT Marr hit a solo shot in the first, and Cole Mathis followed in the second with a three-run home run as part of a six-run inning for the Cougars. Mathis added another three-run shot in the fifth before Harmstead hit one of his own, a solo shot to straightaway center field to get MU on the board in the seventh.
Tommy Kent was strong in relief for MU, throwing two scoreless innings and striking out the side in the ninth.

-Harmstead hit his team leading sixth home run and his fourth in the last four games.

Jem Sisco posted his second straight scoreless outing, throwing two shutout innings out of the bullpen.
-Harmstead posted his seventh multi-hit game of the season.

Tommy Kent tied a career high with four strikeouts, and posted his second career scoreless outing. He fanned four of the six batters he faced.
