GREENSBORO, NC – James Harmstead homered twice, and
Reed Interdonato,
Dante Ciaramella and
Ryan Bearse combined to hold North Carolina A&T to two hits as Monmouth University Baseball shut out the Aggies 2-0 Sunday.
Harmstead got MU on the board with a solo homer in the second to stake Interdonato to the lead. Interdonato held that through six, striking out five with just two hits allowed to hand off that advantage to the bullpen. After Ciaramella threw two perfect innings, Harmstead hit his second home run of the day in the top of the ninth to make it 2-0. Bearse followed that with a perfect ninth to lock down the 2-0 win.
NOTES AND QUOTES
"Great team win today. Reed had his best career start and gave us exactly what we needed. Dante and Ryan did a great job out of the bullpen. James broke out and of course provided us with our offensive production. A few nice plays on defense and Wolf threw out a would be base stealer in a big spot." – Head Coach
