WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Delaware Blue Hens defeated the Monmouth University softball team twice in a Friday Colonial Athletic Association doubleheader by scores of 6-0 and 11-0 at MU Softball Park in West Long Branch, NJ.

Billie Kerwood struck out four batters over five innings of work in the circle, but was credited with the loss for allowing two runs in the second, both coming via outs made by the hitter, and one in the third on a wild pitch. Kelly Toomey gave a strong effort in relief in both games, allowing just two runs over 4.1 innings on the day.
 
Offensively, Francesca Torraca and Devin Coia both had multi-hit games in game two, and Julia Thuer produced a single in both contests.

NOTES & NUMBERS
- Devin Coia collected her second multi-hit game of the season.
- Kelly Toomey has now pitched in relief in five straight contests.
- Billie Kerwood leads the Hawks in innings pitched (70.1) and strikeouts (83) in 2023.
